BREAKING NEWS FROM MLF!

JESUS THE FOCUS OF EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT
Oxford, MS - After a local man complained to his bosses that driving a work truck with a jumbo-sized “Jesus Saves” decal violated his sincerely held religious beliefs – he does not feel it is appropriate to advertise one’s faith in such a manner – he was handed a pink slip by the company. He has now filed a federal lawsuit in Oxford, Miss. alleging employment discrimination. You can read the full complaint here and the full press release here.

STUDENT FILES LAWSUIT ALLEGING POLICE DEPARTMENT AND SCHOOL DISTRICT TAG TEAMED TO DEPRIVE HIM OF HIS CIVIL RIGHTS
Ripley, MS - After they were given numerous opportunities to avoid a lawsuit, a student has filed a federal lawsuit in Oxford, Miss. against the City of Ripley (Mississippi), South Tippah School District, Ripley Police Chief Scott White, Ripley Police Officer Rodney Wood and Ripley High School Assistant Principal Allen Stanford. The lawsuit alleges that the student’s constitutional rights were violated when the police department and school district yanked the student from class, interrogated him without notifying his parents, handcuffed the student and paraded him through the hallways of his high school in plain view of his peers. The rest of the press release can be read here and the filed complaint can be read here.

MLF HEADLINES

Obama's "Supreme" Mistake

MLF Founder, Joe Murray, had an OP/ED published in the Northeast's Mississippi Daily Journal. Here is an excerpt:

"Though a minority view, the idea that the Supreme Court cannot strike down laws of Congress is not radical. While the Supreme Court has the authority to strike down State laws that conflict with federal law, such power was never meant to extend to acts of Congress."

"Soon after his mild rebuke of the Court, Obama's backpedalling was causing major waves on the Potomac. Press Secretary Jay Carney took to the podium to declare Obama's love for the Court and Attorney General Eric Holder made it clear that Obama not only bows to Saudi kings, but to the lowly 5th Circuit as well."
